On the subject of devaluation ... and not wanting to scare people ... but what are people's thoughts about when (or if and when) BA will move to revenue based redemption pricing rather than fixed points redemption?

It seems that the industry is moving in this direction (Virgin, Lufthansa etc). Iberia moved its OnBusiness redemption to revenue based a few days ago, with zero notice. Given they are both part of IAG Loyalty, then I personally would expect BA to follow suit with BA OnBusiness in due course and then for normal redemptions too. Will it be this December, put out between Xmas and New Year like the tier point changes last year, or at some other point? Will they wait until after April 2026 when the new tier point changes are fully embedded and everyone has moved tiers, or before?

I am planning to make at least one speculative booking for next year to lock in the redemptions at current fixed prices in case they do move with no notice. I have a GUF2 to use and a 2-4-1 voucher which I want to maximise value from so will book something soon rather than lose/devalue the notional value I have in my stash of avios if and when it happens.
