San Antonio is great....I do know they were doing alot of work at the Alamo....I recommend staying around the Riverwalk area, so will be close to shops and restaurants and such.

Last time I went, I stayed at the Embassy Suites....which was on the Riverwalk....but it was at a quiet area away from the loud areas.....but was easy to access the various area of Riverwalk and surrounding areas for further out exploring with a rental car or such.
