Far from the worst available to BA pax. I also struggled to find a seat a fortnight ago, and the hot buffet is fussy overly cheffy ingredient roulette, unappetising and unsatisfying. I made a couple of charcuterie and cheeseboard cheese sandwiches with a couple of dinner rolls!
But... free pour champagne, great range of beers in the fridge, and a beautiful shower suite. They don't advertise or signpost the showers, there are only six, and it was only a British guy emerging from a frosted glass door that pointed me to it. Consequently I was the only one in a full lounge using a shower at 8pm on a weekday evening, and it was half an hour of utter sanctuary. Only left because I wanted another drink!
Oh and the stupid laminated black card entry system... the staff member on the desk forgot to give me mine, I forgot I needed one, and I was rejected and sent upstairs with quintessential AA condescension and rudeness, despite demonstrating that I had every right to be there. Back downstairs for a black card it was...
