Yes, and they'll cover the cost of a hotel and food at Heathrow under right to care, despite what you think. They will tell you they don't if you ask, but you retroclaim and they'll pay up. A reasonable chain hotel is usually fine, Hilton or Radisson and you book it yourself.
Don't do anything hasty - post your plan here and let people check it out. You don't under any circumstances cancel, you essentially list your desired flights and call up with them.
