I think your rating of the EK lounge is a bit harsh. I agree the QR lounge is better overall, but it also has its faults:
- The QR lounge gets overwhelmed with passengers at certain times now as QR has so many departures in short banks, in addition to any Oneworld business class passenger having access
- The a la carte menu is great, but if you get the later evening flights you’ll often be told ‘sorry, we’re out of that dish’ so it’s a partially theoretical benefit in my experience
- The QR lounge doesn’t have enough loos when it’s busy
- The QR lounge shower suites are saunas without air conditioning
- The QR lounge is in the main terminal so you have to take a train after the lounge to get to the flight. EK moved to the satellite almost a year ago now whilst QR hasn’t yet started construction on their satellite lounge
I would say it’s more of a 6 vs. 10 than a 2.
I’ve edited to show a revised upward rating of 4/5 as a compromise, I agree 2 wasn’t fair or realistic.
