Just now received the CCPA/GDPR "We're moving your data to Marriott International" email, which is ironically the first time I heard of this acquisition. Naive me hopes this means my accounts can be merged and my CitizenM nights added to my Marriott lifetime total.
From my experience: only one room category, rooms half the size of Moxy but double the price, very overpriced (but their premium locations allow them to). Before COVID they were cheaper, and above all more in line with the original owner's vision: "high-tech rooms" (for a hotel at least) with in-room technology that could be controlled on your own smartphone, self check-in/check-out, free movies (including adult), pool tables. The concept was clearly designed by single young men, for single young men. Most of those perks were taken away after COVID, and the hotels became a lot more average, while rates kept rising. I think I last stayed with them in early 2023.
