I visited the new ORD lounge yesterday. As media outlets have noted, the lounge is exclusive to AF/KLM (ST too?) from 12:00 - 17:00 which is when the last AF flight leaves. However I came a little later because I was on an SAS flight.
I was told that at that time they were ONLY doing Priority Pass and that I should use the SAS Lounge (which is very small) or the Delta Sky Club even though I have FB Gold and was on a business ticket. I was also told that the SAS lounge will close soon (though don't remember when I was told) and that SAS passengers would then be directed to the AF lounge. I don't know if these access policies are to stay until then or if they will change soon as they iron some growing pains out. Since I have Priority Pass, I decided to use that to access the lounge. I don't know how things would fare for me other times if I had a Delta domestic flight.
In general the lounge was fine. The hot food left a bit to be desired, but other than that, it was fine. However, it is not at the level of the Sky Club. The one thing though that it does have over the Sky Club is a totally free bar rather than the mix of free/paid options at the Sky Club. I'd say that for the moment the ranking of SkyTeam lounges at ORD terminal 5 would be Delta Sky Club > AF lounge > SAS lounge
