From Hakata Station (Fukuoka), you first take the Relay Kamome limited express.
This train runs along the conventional but comfortable line to Takeo-Onsen, a journey of just over an hour.

The connection has been designed for ease: upon arrival at Takeo-Onsen, passengers are guided directly to the Shinkansen Kamome platforms, located just next to the conventional line.
The transfer itself is short and seamless — either on the same platform or via a covered walkway. Connecting time is short (less than 3 minutes).

The Shinkansen Kamome then covers the final leg to Nagasaki in about thirty minutes, passing through rolling countryside and forested hills.

Luggage space on Japanese trains is limited, and even with such an easy transfer, large suitcases can be cumbersome.
