Hello... tonight was my first time playing the "try to bag reward seats at 0100BST" game for business class to Tokyo. I thought I was lightning fast at seconds past 0100. Saw the 4 business class seats pop up on both of the flights. Knew exactly which one I wanted, raced through the booking process, credit card details in, amex safekey completed, completing booking... and... fail! I would have thought the seats were reserved as soon as you start the booking process. Apparently not. I'm wondering if I'm going to have more success via the call centre. If they grab the seats as soon as they become available then surely they are are protected?
