Try to see if you can interline your bags so you don't have to retrieve it and check it in at DOH.

No first hand experience with DOH, but 2˝ hours is an issue (when on separate ticket)? - provided of course that incoming flight is on time.
If OP is doing self-transfer, travel insurance wouldn't cover as you are responsible to leave ample time for self-transfer.
OP - I'd just take the 0645 flight - what if your CZ flight is delayed?
