Detroit/SE Michigan to Chicago by car is 4.5 hours door to door if you avoid rush hour vs flying 2.5 hours door to door. Parking costs are 60-80 a day or so at my normal hotel bear Monroe station. Any longer than that then I’m taking the plane as parking would cost more than actual plane ticket.
