And I was also looking at Nepal but as another post mentioned the logistics of traveling around Nepal look a bit harder. Has anyone been to both and would recommend Nepal over Bhutan even with the harder logistics if looking to get a cultural and outdoor experience but not hike Everest?
I would say Nepal and Bhutan are very different. The best parts of Nepal do not lend themselves well to luxury travel. Though Shinta Mani in Mustang should be good. Mustang without trekking would be a shame though.
If you have time to combine both that would be ideal.
