Back when I lived in Toronto I used to regularly visit this one client located in a small town, which was about a seven hour drive from my office. My other option was to fly there on commuter flights, which with the airport time and the requisite connection also amounted to a seven hour journey. But if I flew, I could spend at least two thirds of that time on my laptop -- something that I couldn't do behind the wheel. So although it was more expensive to fly, the amount of time I got back made it more than worthwhile.
Never forget to consider opportunity cost when weighing things like this. Many times, that becomes the deciding factor.
