When you check-in through the website (but can't through the app) you'd either let the PDF get mailed to you or download it.
Afterwards you simply use that PDF for everything (and zoom into the barcode) instead of the Alaska app.
Only thing you'd have to remember: you'd have to increase the display brightness by hand.
You see, my point is that I don't want to do any of that. I want to have everything in my bag as I approach the checkpoint, with nothing else that needs to go in a bag or a bin afterwards, including a mobile device that I'll have to worry about increasing brightness.
