So far it sounds as if you were unable to check in early at one hotel where you successfully did so in the past. There can be several reaons for that:
- Perhaps the hotel changed its policies.
- Perhaps they had a much higher occupancy during your last visit.
- Perhaps they differenciate between, say, 6:30am arrivals and 10am arrivals.
- Perhaps the staff involved made mistakes contrary to the hotel’s policies.
As has been stated repeatedly, early check-in or early lounge access aren’t, and haven’t been, Bonvoy benefits and are entirely up to the individual hotel. And as many posters have remarked, by and large Bonvoy hotels are quite guest-friendly in that respect.
If I don’t like one hotel’s approach in this area, it becomes part of my considerations when deciding where to book in the future.
The thread was started after encountering a problem with one hotel after staying at Marriott properties for over forty years.
You can tell from the replies of others on the thread that some others have had similar early check-in problems. Some subscribers will pay anything to have access to their room early other refused to pay for early access to their room.
So what is Marriott’s policy on early check-in?
Marriott’s website shows “Guaranteed Early Check-In” at 10:00 A.M. of course this is subject to rooms being available.
With Your 24 I believe all hotels in the chain honors that.
I don’t know if Guaranteed Early Check-In is included in the T & C.
So we know there is procedure for a Guaranteed Early Check-in.
Have you found a thread previously with the phrase Guaranteed Early Check-In?
I think most guests that arrive early at their hotel would like to have a room unless they have a prearranged activity or a scheduled meeting.
