Welcome to FlyerTalk. I can't find any long haul frame which only goes to row 39, so the smart money is on cock-up [it probably was anyway]. Not aware of any imminent changes to the Gatwick or 777 fleets - they've all been done at LHR and LGW had a refit recently enough that nothing new is expected to happen for some time.
