Just curious - what exactly are the legal ramifications for inflight disturbances? I should imagine it varies depending upon the egregiousness of the offense, but I would hope that if either verbal or physical violence are involved, that person would be banned for life from all flights nationwide and even international.
It's a Federal offense, 49 USC 46504 specifically, which provides for fines, imprisonment, or both. So it's up to the US Attorney (to be honest I don't know which jurisdiction gets it for a flight) to press charges. Then it's up to a Judge to impose fines, prison time, or other remedies such as no-fly provisions.
Sadly, Airlines are not allowed to share no-fly lists, it's part of the whole "no collusion" deal.
