I'll stick with the AA Executive card for $245 more a year. That comes with full AAdmirals Club access, including partner lounges. The Globe seems $100 more expensive that I feel it should be, as I've been seeing quite a few signs posted outside of AAdmirals clubs lately stating that they are not accepting day passes. I also like to keep things simple, as I've had about enough of the coupon book credit cards.
I agree that the Globe is more expensive than it's worth (and the coupons are poor), but the Globe day passes are exempt from day pass restrictions. So if you're the kind of person who wouldn't commit to a membership but who might buy 4 day passes a year (and, based on what I see every time I hang out by the reception at an AC, those kinds of people are insanely prevalent these days), it seems like a semi-attractive offering.
