it's debatable. old companion pass was for 2 pax but requires 20k spend. LP bonus milestones were $20k, 40k, $50k previously, now it's 4-12 flights, and probably more easily obtained for some people. while you no longer have $25 a day food credit, you now have $100 and 4 lounge passes. the passes can be more useful on longer trips since it is for 24hrs and better food. also some frequent fliers may prefer the higher tier card. i agree that aviator maybe better for some people, but the globe card is probably more appealing to the masses
