We went to the desk at CDG and spoke to a lovely woman who arranged a hotel with dinner and breakfast included. She told us it was a 4-star "wonderful" hotel.
Not so.
I would say perhaps a 1 or 2 star Tourist hotel. No proper restaurant. The voucher covered dinner: "Select 1 tub or box of processed food from the fridge, 1 dessert and 1 drink. Microwave available". 2 tables in the lobby. One could also order pizza (edible). Buffet breakfast available but we chose to eat in the lounge instead. To be fair, they gave us a very spacious room. Welcomed by cobwebs above the entrance door. No glasses or cups, paper cups available at reception. Kettle/coffee machine that didn't work. Return shuttle in the morning every 2 hours. The staff were pleasant.

Lesson learned: avoid the customer service desk, book your own hotel that you're happy with (within reason) and claim afterwards, even if it's a little work.
I was hesitant to refuse the voucher after it was issued as I wasn't sure if they would make a note and dispute my claim amount later.

Not a happy camper that evening but our first day in Antananarivo there was a general strike, protests in the streets and a whiff of tear gas in the air so it put things into perspective.

Safe and happy travels everyone!
Seems like the B&B is AF’s new go-to hotel for irrops – three people I know (all AF Plat or Gold travelling in Business) have been sent there in the past couple of months. I’ve never stayed myself but know the chain pretty well. They are all solid 3-stars, fine for a night’s sleep, but for an Elite in C you would expect them to offer something a bit nicer, especially if dinner’s supposed to be included.
