Hi all,

Between me and my travel companion, we have a combined baggage allowance of 60kg LHR-SIN in economy. I currently do not qualify for status but will after this round trip to Silver (I know this has no impact on my current flight).
our baggage is 68kg on my home (inaccurate?) scales.

Is there a history of SG being a little lenient when it comes to excess out of LHR? Or, will I really need to pay for excess? If so, the website only gives me an option to buy 5kg or 10kg (plus more than 10kg). Would I need to buy 10kg or would 5kg suffice?

Is there any benefit to me paying in advance at home or is the rate the same at the airport? If thr rate is the same at the airport I will just pay there.
