I should have clarified, I changed companies 5 years back and do not travel for work anymore. So I generally bounce around just 85k/year for personal flights, some years I did bump over 100k by accident, but generally it's around 85k. However, since it's all J, this new change is a huge benefit personally, and I haven't been using points since you can't get the discount unless you are 100k.
Overall, this change gives me the opportunity to do one quick high SQC flight at the start of the year, and then use Aeroplan points again with 100k benefits. It will result in me having to spend a LOT less with AC in future years for the same travel I am doing today. This program change without a doubt will cut my spending with AC by at least 70% a year for the same flights and cabin I travel in today.
