Erm.... there is catering - there's a lounge. And as I already pointed out, with more than 24 hours notice (as well as the willingness to do something positive) they could rustle up some grub.

Forgive me for coming up with what I would think are pretty straight forward suggestions on how to try and make some sort of catering available. I am more of a 'can do' person.
we seemed to have moved on quite a bit from the “simply asking some straight forward questions” approach
