Which room did you book and which upgrade did you receive?

Booked entry level, upgraded to executive king. This room types appears to guarantee you a view of the Chinese Friendship Garden at the rear of the hotel as opposed to looking out into Sydney's China town.

How are the rooms?

Clean, appear to have been renovated in the last few years, well equipped with all the essentials: Nespresso, cups and glassware etc

What was good and what was bad?

Good: Setting expectations that it is a Novotel and not an Aman, Four Seasons etc, I couldn't fault the stay!

Neutral: Breakfast spread is sufficient but not super varied.

Bad: Ironing board cover had seen better days

What about welcome drinks, welcome amenities or any other special perks?

Printed welcome note and a small box of chocolate chip biscuits
