I am old enough that I lived around the Research Triangle area (Raleigh, NC) when AA had an RDU hub. I remember the news that when AA closed RDU hub, AA was closing pilot and FA base at RDU except few pilots and FAs remained at RDU for RDU-LHR flight. Good to hear that AA still keeping a small base at RDU.
As far as I know it still exists, the last time I flew that flight one of the FAs mentioned having to drive several hours home (aka to Charlotte), so if it does it's definitely staffed by both satellite and main base FAs
