Mercure Yokosuka, Japan

3 nights stay, October 2025. 3-star hotel.

- What is your ALL status?

Platinum

- Were you (or for multi-stayers were you generally) happy with the hotel/stay?

Yes.

- Which room did you book and which upgrade did you receive?

Booked entry level, upgraded to premium floor, highest guest floor. Deluxe room. Nice view. Minibar, Nespresso maker, fridge.

- How are the rooms?

Small, but this is Tokyo area (1h from central Tokyo with the train, but it's a big mega city all the way in), so about 16 sqm is my guess. Old, but they make the best of it. Excellent view. Comfy bed, on the softer side. Good housekeeping. Good, somewhat uneven, shower pressure. Aircon good, also used an air purifier, made the air better. The soundproof could be better.

- What was good and what was bad?

Good: The breakfast is 4-star. 2 minutes walk to Shioiri station. Mall 2 minutes walk away, plenty of restaurants and convenient stores around.

Bad: Had a slight confrontation with the front desk manager. Suddenly the room went warmer, they switched off the aircon to warming instead. The room become stuffy. I had to insist that I actually payed for aircon, he solved it, did switch it on again.

- What about welcome drinks, welcome amenities or any other special perks?

Excellent. Welcome amenities provided, free minibar which was refilled daily with sparkling water, still water, softdrinks, apple juice. Welcome drink: took sparkling wine, which could have been better.

- Value for $ or Vouchers? Would you return?

Paid EUR 55/night (Voyageur rate, booked 3 month before) which ofc included complementary breakfast for platinum+. Cannot complain on that deal.
