The vibe I’ve gotten here is that overnight connections (chatgpt says over 12 hours) will allow my bag to be checked to LHR only without problems. So, I might ask for what you’ve proposed.

you can retrieve yor bag in lhr if checked through. I wouldvresistec 'demanding' as you may fail the attitude test and find itbtakes even longer. Patience rather than demanding!!
As mentioned if the bag is in a container it could take a couple of hours.
