AU to UK Calls Disconnecting after options

I am currently in Australia, my BAC account is in the UK.

I have tried across multiple days, using both my (UK) Three number/SIM and my (AU) Telstra number/SIM, calling both Gold and Silver lines using both the 0800 and the 0191 numbers. I have also tried using Teams 'calls' function.

The calls connect, I go through the automated menus, but at the point I should join a queue having selected to make a new booking using Avios, the line is disconnected.

In desperation, I've also called the Australian number (desperation because it's answered in India and in my experience it's a struggle with anything remotely beyond a simple request). Options to make a new booking with Avios or to speak to BAC, all get answered by the commercial sales team who can't book using Avios. They try and help, offering geographic numbers instead of the 1300 number, but it's an endless circle of hell.

Is anyone else suffering this affliction - and even better, is there a solution/backdoor beyond giving up, which is what I suspect BA is happy to let people do!

Thank you !
