Is it full silver membership they are getting? A lot of the perks like seat selection wouldn’t be of much use anyway as I doubt many of them travel on full fare tickets. I think there is already something where they get lounge access on staff travel after a silly number of years of service.
If they commute from say Scotland or Manchester, it might come in quite handy. A lot of staff commute on commercial/hotline tickets as it's less risky.
