According to customer support that the OP quoted, there really isn't a traditional "upgrade" list that is customer facing which makes sense because even though I got upgraded on NRT-SEA, there was never a visible upgrade list for me to track where I was. My guess (and hope) is that these flights will eventually have a visible wait-list at T-72 like you can see for AS flights on their website but with only 8 F seats on the 717s, I also could see AS applying a different upgrade policy for these flights.
There absolutely is an upgrade list for interisland flights on the HA app and now at the gates. Exactly how it’s supposed to work, and how often it does so, are separate questions, but it exists and it’s significantly better than nothing.
