Or, at the far end of the spectrum, there's the BALEAF Hiking Pants, $39, that I've been considering. I have some of their rash guard/sun shirts, which are good for kayaking and seem to hold up well.
I have two pairs of those exact Baleaf pants. I love them. Don't get me wrong, they are not super tough, high-end pants but they fit great, are very lightweight, stretchy and kinda water resistant with handy pockets. I like how they look at the ankle too with the cord lock. I originally bought them for hot destinations where I had to cover my knees, like Türkiye this summer, but they have become my go-to casual pants. If you are going with grey, I prefer the steel grey to the deep grey. I also have a few pairs of the same Baleaf brand in capris and wear them all summer. They seem to go on sale a lot. I got the pants in July for $24.99.
