10 hour layover with a five year old

Hello,

Long time lurker, first time poster here.

In December, I'll be flying from Luxembourg to Santiago, Chile via LHR in BA J class with my wife and 5 year old daughter.
We will have a very long layover (10ish hours) between flights at LHR. Landing from LUX at midday in T3 and onwards to SCL from T5 at around 10PM. As 10PM will be more like 11PM according to my daughter's body clock, I was thinking about booking a family day room at one of the airport hotels. I have my eye on either the Aerotel at T3 or the Hilton at T2 which both offer family day rooms. The plan is to stay there for a few hours for some rest (hopefully a nap for my daughter) and then head into T5 to have a bite to eat at one of the lounges at around 7PM.

Does anyone have any opinions about the hotels listed (or maybe an alternative)? Or how would you try to survive a 10 hour layover with a 5 year old?

If it were just my wife and myself travelling alone, I'd consider heading into London or to Windsor. But this time, my layover plan is all about making the likelihood of an "over tired meltdown" as small as possible. ;-)
