Both flights are T8 - do I still have to collect and drop off luggage, then do security again? If so, 1hr 25 seems awfully tight, especially as I’m travelling with my dad who’s not the fastest mover these days, and doesn’t have TSA Pre.

If luggage is tagged through, should be ok - although any delays will obviously eat in to that
If your flights are on the same PNR, which they should be as you were rebooked from a non-stop flight, your luggage should be tagged all the way to your final destination, LHR, and there would be no need to exist the secure airside area and re-clear security.
