My question is whether I am in the first cohort of the new rules, or the final cohort of the old rules. The sticky says:

But technically speaking I do not know if my renewal takes place on 31 October, or 1 November.
The "transition year" runs from November 2024 (month 1) to October 2025 (month 12) and only applies to those who reached Platinum on or before October 31 2024. (Any Golds who reached Platinum on or after Nov 1 2024 are instantly subject to the new rules).

The first cohort of the new rules had their accounts transitioned in November 2024 as explained upthread. You cannot be amongst this first cohort, because that would have given you a membership "year" which lasted only from October 2024 to end-November 2024.

You can only transition from the old to the new rules upon completing a full membership year at the Platinum level. Accounts are not transitioned midway-through a membership year.

Because you reached Platinum in October 2024, and because Platinum always lasts for at least a full year (it lasts until the last day of the same month in which you qualified for Platinum in the following year - e.g. any day of October 2024 to 31 October 2025) your membership year ends in October 2025. Therefore, you very obviously belong to the final cohort who are transitioned at the end of October 2025.
