I was scheduled to fly MIA-SFO-SEA-DFW-MIA 5/21-5/22.
The first flight is later by 1hr 38min. My connection in SFO from AA to Alaska will be 31 minutes.
If I can't make it, then I am stuck in SFO until the next Alaska flight at 9:05pm.
Since this was booked during the DBL05 promo, I have great incentive to change the MIA-SEA routing to avoid the Alaska segment (and to get a better schedule). All of this assuming that I can change and still get DBL05 credit.
1. Will any change fee be added?
2. What routing is permissable? I have consulted my newly-updated AA timetable and there are NUMEROUS routes from MIA-SEA that would get me into SEA before my return flights (5/21 11:30pm). For example MIA-CUN-DFW-SEA is listed in the timetable. Is this a permissable change?
3. Can I change the return, keeping the first flight SEA-DFW but changing DFW-MIA to DFW-ORD-MIA? The schedule is the same, but there was an aircrafte change (757 to 737)?
Basically, I see this as carte blanche to create a MUCH better MR. Am I lucky, or am I being Pollyannaish again?
Thanks in advance,
Sam
