The "in a few months" is the variable. If it were a nice sunny day with good road conditions, I'd rent a car and drive for about an hour distance from the airport for some potentially magnificent scenery and then turn around. (Also, don't know the time of day of your layover - you could have a fairly short "daylight" day. Otherwise, I'd just grab a ride into town, walk around, have a meal and some beverages, and head back.
