Since there seems to be no separate thread for United Renowned Hotels (for the United Club and Quest cards), I thought I'd post about it here, as I found very little information about the program before I actually had a card that gave access.
From what I've observed, the Renowned hotels appear to be a smaller subset of the Edit hotels. Every RH I've seen is indeed in the Edit hotel list, but there are many Edit hotels that are not on the RH list.
I had a recent stay at the Sofitel Montreal hotel, booked through RH. The price was the same as the Edit, and the same as booking direct with the same 24-hr cancellation policy. I don't remember exactly, but I'm pretty sure I checked FHR as well and the price was also the same there. The $200 club card credit posted immediately when the prepaid hotel charge posted. Note the minimum stay for RH statement credits on these cards is just one night, not the 2-night requirement for the Edit credits.
When I booked, I added my Accor loyalty number to the reservation, and I could see it was linked to my account shortly thereafter. I got points and an EQN for the stay - which I wasn't expecting, so was a nice surprise!
Upon arrival, this was the benefit sheet they gave me:
I checked in super early - before 11:00am - and they accommodated that, along with a 2-category upgrade to a room on the top floor of the hotel. He mentioned a welcome amenity when I was checking in, but I never received it...to be honest, I forgot about it until just now when typing this up - haha. $100 property credit applied as expected to the final bill, and the continental breakfast was great. Note they have other breakfast options in the restaurant _other_ than the continental one, but only continental was included...no worries for me, as it's what I would have chosen that morning anyway. I didn't need a late checkout, so no information there.
All in all, it was a great stay, and I have no complaints about the Renowned Hotels program, except that I wish they would expand it to include more (all?) of the Edit properties. In this case, the hotel I wanted was indeed on the list, but I felt somewhat lucky in that regard!
