This is interesting. The initial electronic form option went away shortly after it was introduced. I guess Hawaii ag officials saw electronic and paper form submission totals were significantly below passenger counts and temporarily axed the e-program. The new method ensures compliance to the level they want to see and is the price paid for those who opted not to respond either way during the initial rollout.
I almost want the paper forms back instead of the new method. The paper form takes 60 seconds to fill out on a 5 1/2 hour flight. I’m sure the e-version process takes longer.
I fly back home to Honolulu next Tuesday from SFO. The boarding of the 9:20a flight is already a cluster. Proof of submission, if required, could provide some hiccups at boarding.
