Reminds me of the time I spent about 40 minutes in the 'much faster' (ahem) Pre-Check line at AUS only to get to the TSA officer and be told 'there's no pre-check on your boarding pass'. I had to go back to check-in and ask why it wasn't printed when it was on my BA account. She note it was, apologised, printed it again, I joined the long Pre-Check line a second time.
At AUS the Pre-Check is nearly always a lot slower and longer than regular security as it appears every American has decided to invest in Pre-Check so they can get through security more swiftly...
