So it turns out 5A was actually the worst seat choice, it's missing a window (5K as well, the only ones). We also boarded from the front in DOH (though exited from the middle in MAN), and as warned the service ordering from the front was very obvious*. Even though all I wanted was my bed making there were some 4-5 people ahead with the same request which meant a ten minute wait.
At least the location was quiet.
Seat 5A on the QR 787-9 (at the end of the flight so not looking as pristine)
Next time, rows 2 or 3 would be better.
*I'm normally a Cathay flyer so as OWE I get used to service being based on status rather than seat numbering.
