Amongst the oddballs we have the DTW ExpressTram, a cable hauled tram from your friends at Otis Elevator and Poma, whose name you might recall if you enjoy skiing. Poma-Otis are also responsible for the trams at MSP (both MSP and DTW are former Northwest Airlines hubs, now part of Delta), which I guess makes sense if you think of a cable hauled people mover as basically a horizontal elevator.

The Newark AirTrain, a 30 year old(!) Alstom monorail(!!) is now scheduled to be replaced by a different cable hauled system from Doppelmayr, another name that might be familiar to skiers. So I guess we know what product diversification looks like in the face of global warming being a threat to winter sports.
