Seems that there were a series of missteps on this flight. Overall the crew was somewhat lost.
I ordered an Aperol Spritz, the FA gave me the bottle and then asked if I wanted a glass. I said yes and she handed me one without ice. I know this is small one, but usually they pour it over ice w/ a garnish.
The main course was then brought out at the same time as the appetizer along w/ a preselected choice of bread. The last couple trips they usually brought out the app first and had the bread basket. To my biggest surprise, the sauce was provided in a tin foil container next to the gnocchi. I'm assuming that typically the FA pours this over prior to serving? I had never seen this before.
For the pre-arrival meal I ordered the penne pasta with chicken. I was served some sort of pasta (not penne) and there was no chicken. In fact I'm pretty sure they had used the same sauce as the gnocchi. Didn't get a picture of it, but judging by the other pictures in this thread w/ the chicken pasta, this was definitely not it.

Yeah, you definitely got short changed on the gnocchi. This is how I think it should look. You also got short changed on the shaved cheese.
I should say this underscores the difference between crews. The FAs on this particular flight were amazing and genuinely were happy to be flying and working. And the results speak for themselves in the products and services offered.
