The transcon rules seem a bit confusing to a simple soul like me but would I be right in deducing that lounge access will not be available to me for the MIA-LAX leg and that the two oceanic sectors being on AA will not change that?

Thanks.

When are you travelling? I cant find any 777's on MIA of late at all but certainly not a 77W. I'm always looking on that route and it seems non existent of late.

If its a 77W there is carve out for that if you are in J or F you can get into the FL (basically if its a plane with both a F & J cabin). The thing is the 772 on that route is marketed as Flagship too, i have personally accessed when on that plane (in 2023). Its so confusing with AA tbh.

Separate from that if your LAX-HKG flight is in J then you can try in Miami to show them that BP and say you're on your way to HK and hope they let you in but with it being the next day you may not get in.
