No disagreement, but if a few times a year it causes someone to toss their fruits that may be infested with a medfly or similar, *maybe* it has some use. As far as a boarding requirement? Wow. You can complete the form days in advance, which only adds to its reliability.

On a recent HA flight, there was a simple gate announcement, people went up to the front to scan the QR code, and nothing more ever transpired. I did complete the form online And fortunately, I did not grab one of the oranges from the unforgettable Escape Lounge before my flight.

I do not know how some people can travel anymore without a mobile device. It must add layers of complexity these days, including standing in long lines to get a BP, depending on the airline.
