I'm scheduled to fly back to the United States from Europe on Sunday, but a friend of mine died suddenly yesterday. I know that UA would probably waive my change fees if this were a family member--but what's going to be their policy on change fees for the death of a friend? What documentation might I need?

If it makes a difference, my return trip is on a V fare. I'm currently in Budapest, so I'd need to do at least one leg of my outward journey on LH.
