Yes, but even that's just an artifical thing that only indicated that you're flying together. It doesn't guarantee IROPs handling together. With AFKL you can even link two separate PNRs for a trip together, sort of like you want to do. But that too doesn't truly bring you anything in protection terms, only cross PNR luggage check in really.
Either way, linking is limited to within AFKL and some few select alliance partners they work closely with. Other than that, no linking. But for India, in any case, it wouldn't work because you need to get the boarding pass from your airport if origin (BOM in your case).
