I am still BA gold but switching to QR. I am Gold with QR now and almost Platinum (Emerald).

Just wanted to report that BA has recently changed the system to scan you at the First Wing security gates in Terminal 5. Previously I could just show my BA gold card and it was fine, now the new system doesn't seem to want to allow this easily. The manager can manually grant you access but I had to push for it.

I wonder if they will find a easier solution next time.

The people at BA weren't opposed to it, they just didn't know what to do with this situation anymore.
