My mother has a layover in IST that is 24 hours 10 minutes. Both flights are on the same reservation via United, so does not qualify for free hotel or tour. She does not plan to go into Istanbul and would like to stay at the airport hotel. She is trying to figure out whether to book landside or airside hotel.

Will her checked baggage be checked through to her final destination?
