Could the travel agent (not sure if OP booked with CX or another travel agent) or the SUB check-in agent have noticed the empty fields and added one?
I do think the names need to match when entering FFP. In my experience, travelled on SQ, CA with TK member, S7 (when it was still in OW) with my QF member,
the online system couldn't enter/save the number because of a name mismatch at checkin. (middle name included/excluded)
Even if they do the name matching it's still pretty easy to conduct fraud. Just register new accounts under those names, harvest the miles and then do a transfer (QF allows free point transfers).
