Location: 1 hour from Khao Yai, Thailand. No longer Bangkok, China, Taiwan , Palm Coast, FL, LA, or Chicago though still exiled, again, from the Bay Area.

Like I said, it depends on what you like. I tried UA 1K, on a status match from AA EXP, and I didn't like the seat, Polaris, tray cut into my legs and a metal tube ran on the side with the seat adjustment kept poking in my side and I was blown away with the size of the 1K lines, especially at SFO, figures. Never had that in 40 years of flying AA. And the UA lounge at HKG was substandard compared to the Wing or Pier. Plus, I was amazed at how much an UPG cost because I usually paid coach and UPG with SWU's. A few of the UA domestic flights I took were just OK but too many DYKWIM characters. Since I changed over to AS I'm buying more J so I don't have to worry about it. But, if it works for you that's good. You can add continuation segments onto BR simply by using an OTA. But they actually fly just about everywhere I need. UA doesn't give me E+ now without paying.
